Recapping 2022 and Ringing in the New Year

At Ring, the containers we make are the result of an ongoing, collaborative relationship with customers whose needs, vision, and input are vital for success. This year was filled with accolades, new technology, and the reliable service that Ring customers expect. 

Below, we’re recapping some of our most notable achievements throughout the last 12 months.

January 2022

Ring Container Technologies Joins U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Plants Program: We are proud to be a new member of the Better Plants Program. Ring is committed to reducing energy intensity by 20% by the year 2028.


Ring Container Technologies’ New Customizable PET Solution Maintains Carbonation in Beverages, Energy Drinks: We announced a new, customizable PET solution for maintaining carbonation in beverages and energy drinks. Energy shots and beverages with BarrierGuard® Enhance™ technology are customizable into unique shapes, creating on-shelf brand differentiation for smaller size carbonated PET bottles.



April 2022

Ring Container Technologies Invests in Michigan State University’s School of Packaging: We’re proud to have our name on the main corridor of the School of Packaging’s new building. This upgraded facility will be a new home for their top-ranked program, the first and largest in the U.S. with the sole Ph.D. program in packaging in the country. Renovating and expanding will help MSU remain a leader in the field – modernizing teaching and learning.

Michigan State University’s School of Packaging Celebrated its Groundbreaking: Ring Container Technologies gifted $1.5 million to the Michigan State University School of Packaging, in support of renovations to and expansion of that school’s building. This month, the School officially broke ground, with our President in attendance to commemorate the occasion. 



May 2022

Ring Receives 2022 Better Project Award from the U.S. Department of Energy: Through Better Plants, Ring Container Technologies voluntarily set a specific goal to reduce energy intensity by 20% in a 10-year period across all our U.S. operations. Because of the progress made toward this goal, we have been recognized for our outstanding work in implementing industrial energy, water, and waste projects at individual facilities.



July 2022

Ring Container Technologies Releases Inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance Report: The release of our ESG report follows a year of significant progress toward Ring’s long-standing sustainability initiatives, which balance reliability and affordability for customers with innovations that have reduced millions of pounds of plastic materials, minimized energy resource intensity, and helped customers eliminate food waste, among other achievements.



October 2022

Ring Container Technologies Awarded Top Honors by Association for Dressings and Sauces: We were excited to announce that the Association for Dressings and Sauces (ADS) has selected Ring as the inaugural winner of their Supplier Partner of the Year award. Nominations were submitted by ADS manufacturer member companies for ADS supplier members who have elevated themselves as a partner through equipment and service, packaging, or ingredients.



November 2022

Ring Container Technologies Awarded EcoVadis’ Gold Sustainability Rating: We received a gold medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis, the leading platform for environmental, social, and ethical performance ratings for global supply chains. The rating puts Ring among the top 5% of all companies assessed.



December 2022

BarrierGuard® OxygenSmart™ Recognized by The Association of Plastic Recyclers: Ring’s BarrierGuard® OxygenSmart™, a technology designed to protect both product freshness and the environment, received Critical Guidance Recognition from The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) – a first for materials of this type.

Ring Container Technologies Receives U.S. Plastics Pact Sustainable Packaging Innovation Award: The BarrierGuard® OxygenSmart™ technology was honored by the U.S. Plastics Pact as part of its Sustainable Packaging Innovation Awards. Ring received an honorable mention in the Recyclability category.
